In honor of our modern-day service heroes; dress up as a community helper such as doctor, firefighter, police officer, military member, teacher, or anyone that helps and supports others.
FRIDAY: FUTURE LEADERS
That’s YOU! in red, white & blue; show off your patriotic spirit and wear all of your patriotic accessories and attire.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to attend Shasta Youth Leadership Camp 2026. We look forward to spending an exciting and rewarding 4 days with you this summer. You will find that leadership training, learning to stay drug-free, and fun go together!
Payments:

Pay in full by April 1 = $225 - (Use Coupon Code APRIL50 at checkout)
Pay in full by May 1 = $245 - (Use Coupon Code MAY30 at checkout)
Pay in full by June 1 = $275 per camper
This includes your child’s stay of 4 days and 3 nights, all meals, a water bottle, bracelet and a lifetime of memories! In order to secure your child's position at SYLC 2026, please make all registration payments online prior to June 1, 2026. If full payment is not received by this date, your child's position may be forfeited. Please visit our website store (checks or a credit card will only be accepted).

Health information:
Please fill out a Medical Form for each camper you have attending camp separately BEFORE June 1, 2026. Please bring your camper's medications in a ziplock baggie with their first and last name written on the baggie. Bring ALL medication with you to the registration area when you check your camper in. All medications will be held and administered by our medic officer.

Camp Dates:
Wednesday, July 15 through Saturday, July 18, 2026
Transportation to and from camp:
Parents need to provide or arrange for transportation to and from camp. Please park in the parking lot near the gym at Simpson University.
Arrival:
Check-in will take place near the gym located just north of the parking lot. Campers need to arrive on Wednesday, July 15, between the hours of 1 - 3 p.m. If you need to make arrangements for a later drop off / check in time, please let us know.
**Please do NOT arrive earlier than your scheduled check-in time. Staff and Counselors are busy preparing for your arrival up until the first scheduled check-in times.
**Please bring your camper to the marked registration area, leave all luggage, sleeping bags, etc. outside in the marked areas. After the camper is registered they will be greeted by a counselor who will assist you & the camper to their assigned dorm for delivery of their personal items.
Departure:
The closing ceremony is from 5:30 to 6:30 pm on Saturday in the Simpson University Gym (seating is provided). Parents are invited to attend closing ceremonies. Each camper’s belongings will be stored outside the dorms. Immediately following closing ceremonies please collect their belongings and you are free to go. If your child had medicine held by our medic officer please see him to retrieve it after closing ceremonies.
Phone Calls:
CELL PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED AT SYLC and should remain at home. Phones will be taken, if you are found to be in violation, and returned to you upon the completion of camp. If a camper needs to call home, with permission, a staff member will provide access to a phone.
Schedule:
Each Camper will be provided a schedule of the camp’s activities during registration on Tuesday.
Meals:
All meals will be provided. Campers will be provided a menu during registration on Tuesday. Due to nature’s (ants, etc.) love for food we ask that you DO NOT bring any food from home. **If you have a special diet or food allergies please add it to the Medical Form AND advise us during registration. If you require a certain type of food daily, please bring it with you clearly labeled with your name on it. Staff will store it in the kitchen/refrigerator for you.
Lodging:
Counselors will stay in dorms at the camp and supervise the campers. The dorms have beds with a twin size mattress. You may bring a sleeping bag or sheets and blankets along with a pillow. All dorms are separated by gender - boys and girls are not allowed in each other’s dorm buildings.
Restrooms:
Each dorm room has a private bathroom and shower; there are also restrooms in each wing of the dorm buildings (separated by gender).
T-Shirts:
Upon arrival, campers will be provided a Shasta Youth Leadership t-shirt (included with registration fees). These shirts are to be worn daily and will be laundered on a nightly basis. Many campers overlook this information and pack too many shirts. See our list of what to bring for more information.
Water Bottles & Bracelets:
Each camper will be given a water bottle to fill up with water to stay hydrated throughout the day; this is theirs to keep. They will also be given a camp bracelet and other various swag (included with registration fees).
Staff Supervision:
Staff members and counselors will provide supervision of the campers at all times. Staff members will be at camp every night, including a minimum of two on-duty security staff during sleep hours. The majority of our staff are law enforcement, first responders and educators.
Items to bring:
A list of items we recommend you bring to camp is attached to this email. This list also informs you of what items NOT to bring.
Rules for camp:
Rules will be reviewed during our welcome meeting to camp. Please note that a serious violation could result in early termination. Parents may be required to come get their child early. Terminated campers will not be allowed to participate in the closing ceremony.
Camp Theme & Theme Nights:
Each night has a designated dress up theme that corresponds with our overall camp theme. It is encouraged that each staff member, counselor, and camper dress-up for these nights. *All attire must be appropriate and follow school dress code regulations, campers will be asked to change if in violation of dress code.
*IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND CAMP, PLEASE CONTACT SYLC STAFF BY PHONE OR EMAIL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Prompt notification allows us to offer your spot to another camper who is on our waiting list.*
SYLC PACKING LIST
CLOTHING: (Pack for 4 days & 3 nights)

Comfortable pants or shorts; MUST fall under school dress code standards

Shirts for wearing outside of daytime camp activities (camper tee shirts will be provided for daily wear and washed nightly). NO halter tops, tube tops or crop tops; again MUST fall under the school dress code standards.

Two pairs of comfortable shoes that are suitable for outdoor activities. One pair must be a tennis shoe style. (Sandals may only be worn when there is no physical activity-taking place)

Socks and underwear

Sleepwear; must be publicly appropriate

Swimsuit; no swimsuits that are too revealing. Use good judgment and keep in mind that there will be athletic games and water activities

Light jacket or sweatshirt (optional and weather dependent)

1 bath towel and 1 pool towel; it is a good idea to write your name on both with permanent ink

Curling irons and hair dryers are allowed - however, electrical outlets are limited
